Fencing is always treated as a competition sport in modern world and seldom be introduced to the public as a fitness exercise. However fencing brings different benefits regarding one’s body, and is one which should be considered by almost all population. It is an active sports and require extensive thinking. The METs (Metabolic Equivalents) value of fencing ranging from 6 to 10+, means fencing is marginally a moderate intensity activity and for sure a vigorous sport at most of the time.

The physically demanding activity of fencing works the quadriceps, the calves, the biceps, the triceps and your abdominal core muscle. It helps you develop speed, agility, balance, strategy and train your motor reaction. Through interactive movement among different partners, you develop differential skill according to different individual approach.
